Shin Hye Sung Wins 'Popular Asian Singer' Award At 'China Top Hits Awards'

Standing amongst hundreds of Chinese fans, Shinhwa's Shin Hye Sung performed his hit songs, clad in a black suit at "China Top Hit Awards" on May 17. 

The awards ceremony took place at the Yellow Dragon Sports Center in Hangzhou.

Shin Hye Sung attended the ceremony as Korea's representative and won the "Popular Asian Singer" award at the event, according to Yahoo Celebrity Philippines. 

"It's been a while since I came to China and I'm so happy to be seeing my fans. It's an honor to be receiving such an awesome award in the great city of Hangzhou. I will always try to show you that I'm working hard as I move forward. Thank you," stated Shin. 

The Shinhwa member sang "Ex-Mind" and "It Would Be Nice It Was You" after receiving his awards and was seen wearing a yellow ribbon in support of the Yellow Ribbon Campaign that still continues in South Korea. 

"We were so happy and honored to hear the news that Shin Hye Sung won the 'Popular Asian Singer' award from 'China Top Hits Awards.' We thank the fans for the warm support and love and will work harder to present good works," said Hye Sung's agency. 

Shin Hye Sung will be appearing on the show, "Witch Hunt," which will air on May 30.

Hye Sung debuted back in 1998 as a member of Shinwa and launched his solo career in 2005, releasing albums in both Korea and Japan. 

To the joy of fans, Shinhwa announced their comeback in March 2012, after nearly four years of temporarily parting ways. 

The group, which made their return under the management Shinhwa Company, released their tenth studio album "The Return" in 2012, according to the Korean publication Nate News. 

Shinhwa reconnected with fans through the "2012 Shinhwa Grand Tour: The Return" which took place throughout Asia while each member juggled their solo careers with their own agencies.
