HTC One M8 Specs, Release Date: 'Prime' Edition Tipped To Get 'Exotic Material' For Body, Packs 5.5" QHD Display, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 805

HTC One M8 specs, release date: The HTC One M8 is undeniably among the top Android phones there is today. However, unlike previous years that it only has Samsung, LG and Sony to deal with, HTC now faces tighter competition with Oppo's Find 7 and 7a, as well as the emerging CyanogenMod-powered OnePlus One.

In effect, even Samsung has been tipped to be working on a bigger and more powerful flagship device which would replace the Galaxy S5 after just several months of being the company's flagship.

And just like the Galaxy S5's bigger sibling, the HTC One M8's better version is refered to as the 'Prime' edition.

We certainly do not know if this tag is inspired by Transformers or anything to that matter, but using 'Prime' instead of 'Premium' should be nice for the ears.

So what does the HTC One M8 Prime have to offer? According to several tweets by notorious leakster EV Leaks, the device would pack a huge 5.5-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution. That would be the highest resolution screen HTC has ever included in any of its devices.

Other specs include a much powerful Snapdragon 805 chipset, a quad-core CPU running at 2.5GHz, and 3GB of RAM for superior multi-tasking capabilities.

There has also been rumors that the One M8 Prime would be water resistant just like Sony's Xperia Z2 and Samsung's Galaxy S5. From a previous rumor, the camera would still be a Duo UltraPixel sensor, each boasting 16MP. In case that is true, then expect a lot of Android fans to make the switch to HTC.

To top it off, the upcoming monster phone is said to come with a premium exotic material which is a cross of aluminum and liquid silicone that is capable of dissipating heat. Whatever material it is, it sure sounds exciting.
