Samsung Flip Phone Appears In China, Specs Incl. Dual Touchscreen, Dual-SIM, 13MP Shooter, Snapdragon 800 SoC

Samsung flip phone: Were you a fan of flip phones during the time when Motorola and Samsung are doing well in that category? Well, while there are still some flip phones in the market, they are mostly within the feature phone category. But not this one.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Samsung may soon release another flip phone for the Chinese market as the phone appears in a teaser image.

Dubbed as the Samsung G9098 (we know, it should been named better), the flip phone is said to run on Android with the company's TouchWiz UI on top.

The phone's top features include the dual 3.67" Super AMOLED display with WVGA resolution, one at the top of the device when the smartphone is closed, and another right below it once you open the flip phone.

It is a proven feature for Samsung, who have released similarly designed flip phones in the past couple of years. Surprisingly, most of these flip phones get enough attention from the Korean tech giant's target market.

Other specs of the device include a quad-core CPU running at 2.3GHz, potentially powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and a microSD card slot.

Also on board is a decent 13MP primary camera at the back and a 2MP front facing cam for selfies and video calls.

The Samsung G9098 also supports dual-SIM features which are very popular in the Chinese market. The flip phone packs a rather uninspiring 1,900mAh battery that should last for a day of moderate use.

The flip phone genre in the mobile phone industry may become obsolete soon enough, but Samsung is still trying its best to revive this niche, especially for those who still prefer the flip phone's unique design.

So, does this Android flip phone pique your interest in any way?
