Blackberry Z3 Review, Price: $190 BB10 Powered Smartphone Incl. 5-inch Display Plus 540 X 960 Display & Dual-Core Processor; Designed For Emerging Markets

Blackberry Z3 review, price: Specs of the $190 BB10 powered smartphone include a 5-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960. It also sports a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1.1MP front-facing camera. Storage for the unit starts at 8GB with a Micro SD slot for expansion. It also has a 1080P HD video and a 2,500 mAh battery good for 15.5 hours of talking time.

According to ZDNet, the Blackberry Z3 has been launched exclusively for the Indonesian market. The device, as expected, it aimed at emerging markets. Blackberry has indicated that it will go on sale in India in the near future.

Reuters reported that the lower-end Z3 smartphone is being built under partnership with FIH Mobile, the Hong Kong-licensed unit of Taiwanese electronics company Foxconn Technology Ltd.

The success of the new handset could well be the deciding factor of Blackberry’s tie-up with the contract manufacturing giant and its own future in smartphones. The Z3 Jakarta Edition will be available in store shelves May 15.

The Blackberry Z3 is the first phone to be launched by Blackberry since it’s new CEO John Chen took office late last year. Aside from Indonesia and India, the Z3 will soon be available in six other countries including the Philippines, India, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

The Canadian handset maker said that it hopes the device will help it gain some of the collapse in its market share, which has eaten by Apple’s iPhone, Samsung’s Galaxy, Google’s Android operating system, and Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform.

“If the market doesn’t receive this product well, then we definitely have some negative issues to deal with,” says the company’s CEO Mr. Chen at the launch of the Z3 at Jakarta’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Blackberry declared that it does not have an official sales target for the device, but Chen noted that he expects to sell millions of Z3 handsets around the world.
