Upcoming Nokia Phones 2014: Lumia 636 Gets Certified In China, Specs Incl. TD-LTE, 4.5" Display, 512MB RAM, Quad-Core CPU, Snapdragon 400 SoC

Upcoming Nokia phones 2014: Nokia's mobile division is already a part of Microsoft, but that does not mean it has stopped delivering its last few Lumias in its target markets. One of these is the China-exclusive Lumia 636.

As the single-SIM version and TD-LTE version of the Lumia 635, it shares the same specs save for the much faster LTE connectivity. The smartphone has recently passed the certification requirements of the Ministry of Industry Approval in China.

Dubbed as RM-1010, the Windows Phone powered handset is expected to hit the Chinese market in the next couple of weeks, if not days.

In the alleged packaging of the device, it hints that the there would also be a Lumia 638 under way. While the Nokia Lumia 636 is a single SIM device that supports TD-LTE connectivity, the Lumia 638 is expected to be the dual-SIM version.

And because of the slightly higher specs, the Lumia 638 should get 1GB of RAM instead of the 512MB RAM in the Lumia 630, 635 and 636.

In case you have missed Microsoft's BUILD conference a couple of months ago, the Lumia 636 shares specs with the Lumia 630 and 635. The Nokia handset packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA ClearBlack IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3, a Snapdragon 400 chipset, a quad-core CPU running at 1.2GHz, 8GB of built-in memory, a microSD card slot, a 5MP primary camera, and the latest version of Windows Phone, 8.1.

Once it goes official, the Nokia made smartphone is expected to become available via China Mobile, with over 700 million subscribers throughout the country.

Nokia may have already succumbed to Microsoft, but it does not mean it cannot win any market share wars, especially within the Windows Phone division. Let us just wait and see whether the brand name still has it to sell products, especially for upcoming devices such as the Lumia 930.
