Ever since the VMAs, music award shows just aren't the same without Miley Cyrus stirring up the scene. But since then, Miley Cyrus had a lot of curve balls thrown at her. She survived a break up with Liam Hemsworth, lost Floyd, her dog, to a pack of coyotes and had to cancel her 'Bangerz' tour dates due to her hospitalization. This month, at Billboard Music Awards, Miley Cyrus got to channel all her pent-up feelings in a duet with the Flaming Lips singer Wayne Coyne. They were beamed in from Manchester, England to gave a classic Beatles song a psychedelic spin.

"I always depended on my boyfriend, and then my dog kind of replaced him," admitted the 'Wrecking Ball' singer. But when she lost her dog as well, she found comfort in the trippy music of the Flaming Lips. "Floyd [her dog] and I always listened to the Flaming Lips so now when I listen to that music, I totally feel the presence of him still being there."

Next month, Miley Cyrus will take time off from her Bangerz tour to hit a studio with the Flaming Lips. They will record what Coyne calls "completely weird" versions of the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and "A Day in the Life." This year's Billboard Music Awards performance definitely generated hype for what's to come.

The Flaming Lips and the twerking chanteur has previously collaborated in performances. Last February, Wayne Coyne dropped in on a Miley Cyrus' show to perform the band's "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots."

"Our shows are very childlike, like kids on acid, and hers are too," says Wayne Coyne. "We're so much alike in believing art is supposed to be fun. She's just a freak. I love her to death."

The album, somewhat adorably christened 'With a Little Help From My Fwends' is up for pre-sale on iTunes.
