Samsung Galaxy S5 Active Seen In The Flesh For The First Time, Gets 1080p Display, Rugged-Looking Hardware Buttons

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active: It is the time of the year that Samsung unleashes a flurry of devices which are actually variants of its current flagship. The Korean company has done it last year with the Galaxy S4, and it is doing the same thing with the Galaxy S5.

So far, only the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom (Galaxy S5 Zoom) has been launched, and it is certainly an upgrade over last year's model. A miniature Samsung flagship is also currently in the works, and it is rumored to get a 4.5-inch display, 720p resolution, a Snapdragon 400 chip, and 1GB of RAM.

The Prime is also another version, but compared to previous models, it is much higher-spec'd device compared to the Galaxy S5. Reports claim that it would get a 5.5-inch display with QHD resolution, 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 805 chipset.

Meanwhile, there is also the Active lineup, which is said to be more rugged and durable compared to the original model. And while Samsung has yet to announce any official release date, we get to see it in the flesh for the first time.

In a report by GSM Arena, the device has been spotted on YouTube with an AT&T branding. There we see most of the phone's design and aesthetics, including what appears to be rugged hardware buttons.

One problem we see here for Samsung is that the Galaxy S5 is already an IP certified device, which means it is already water resistant. This leaves us wondering how the Korean manufacturer would be able to make the Galaxy S5 Active even tougher.

Some rumored specs of the Galaxy S5 Active claim that the device would almost share the Galaxy S5's specs, including a 1080p resolution screen, 2GB of RAM, a 16MP primary camera and Snapdragon 801 chipset.

Meanwhile, here are the clips  from YouTube and see the S5 Active for yourself:
