Episode four of the SBS reality show “Roommates” concluded with Park Bom of 2NE1 arriving to the house rather late, following a night of activities. In jest, her “Roommates” cast mates asked if she was returning from a date night, in a style that could be best described as an ambush interview. Park Bom responded with the fact that she would like to date, while implying that she currently is not. Her response prompted her housemates to ask which of the “Roommates” cast would she be most interested in dating. Contrary to recent speculation, Bom responded that she was interested in actor Park Min Woo.

For many years Park Bom, along 2NE1 members CL and Sandara Park, have remained under a lengthy ban on dating that has been imposed by YG Entertainment. The members have provided their feelings about the dating ban in numerous interviews, with the question being posed more frequently as Girls' Generation continues to deliver dating announcements. Perhaps, it was the reality of this situation or the fact that Park Min Woo was in the other room, that prompted Bom to begin crying.

Episode five will provide further explanation regarding this incident. During the preview for the upcoming episode, Bom alludes to the fact that she would not want to be hurt by dating one of “Roommates” cast members.

Fans of the 2NE1 vocalist were shocked by her response, especially during the lighthearted reality program. In previous episodes, audiences were led to the conclusion that Park Bom was interested in actor Lee Dong Wook, who currently stars in the weekend drama “Hotel King”. Audiences have responded well to their chemistry and coined the term Bodong to describe the couple. During recent 2NE1 performances in the Philippines, it was noted that there were numerous Bodong signs within the audience.

However, the fact that Park Bom may actually like Park Min Woo defies the concept of shipping Bodong. Whether she is more interested in Lee Dong Wook or Park Min Woo as a man, the fact that Park Bom shed real tears imparts reality on the situation of scripted reality programming and shipping.
