Rumors regarding a possible collaboration between the powerhouse artists, began in 2013 with a Twitter conversation between G-Dragon, Pharrell, and visual artist Mina Kwon. The conversation touched upon the fact that each of the three artists was interested in working with each other in the future. However, none of the parties explained whether their collaboration would be within the visual arts or music.

G-Dragon has admitted to being a fan of Pharrell Williams, who made a huge comeback in 2013 with his Daft Punk collaboration “Get Lucky”, as well as the Robin Thicke single “Blurred Lines”. Pharrell Williams topped the success of both songs with his infectious release “Happy” which was composed for the “Despicable Me 2” soundtrack.

Most recently, G-Dragon and 2NE1 leader CL experienced success and international attention for their appearance on the Skrillex and Diplo song “Dirty Vibe”. G-Dragon has also received attention from mainstream American press due to his collaborations with Diplo and hip hop artist Missy Elliot. Only time will tell if the power duo of Pharrell and G-Dragon will drop what could undoubtedly be one of the biggest hits in K-Pop.
