Taylor Swift ‘Red’ Tour Dates 2014 Asia Vs. Thailand Coup D’etat: Bangkok Concert Date Canceled

Taylor Swift fans in Thailand, despair! The country-pop songstress has cancelled her sold-out 'Red' tour concert dates in the land of smiles due to the country's political instability. Thai military regime has once again declared coup d'etat with a somewhat loose nighttime curfew that restricts movement. The Bangkok concert date is currently the only one cancelled in Taylor Swift's 'Red' tour concert in Asia. Boo.

Concert promoter BEC-Tero announced Tuesday on its website that the "due to recent events in Thailand", the sold-out 'Red' concert in Bangkok is cancelled. It also added that this was "a difficult decision for all parties." The concert in Bangkok was scheduled to be on the the night of June 9.

"I'm sending my love to the fans in Thailand," Taylor Swift tweeted." I'm so sad about the concert being canceled." See her message on Twitter here:

Turns out Taylor Swift is not being overly cautious in her decision to cancel her 'Red' concert date in Thailand. Tourist bookings has been falling for the past six months as anti-government protests ramped up in the country's capital. For a country that heavily depends on the tourist industry for its economical stability, the protests and the coup is certainly not good news.

But if you are truly a die-hard Taylor Swift fan, there is a possibility of seeing her perform live by jumping on the next flight to a neighboring Southeast Asian country! She is scheduled to play in Indonesia on June 4, the Philippines on June 6, Malaysia on June 11 and Singapore on June 12. It's not sure when Tay Tay will be back next to play in Thailand, so it may be worth catching her when she's in the region!
