Aaron Hernandez Murder Case [UPDATE]: Ex Patriot’s Associate Pleads Not Guilty To Odin Lloyd Killing; Former Tight End To Be Arraigned For Another Killing Charge

Aaron Hernandez murder case update involved his associate, Carlos Ortiz, pleading not guilty during his arraignment in relation to the murder of Odin Lloyd in June last year. The former tight end is also set to be arraigned for new slay charge in the drive-by assault on Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu in July 2012.

Carlos Ortiz entered a not guilty plea on his murder charge for the death of the semi-pro footballer, NECN reported.

Last month, Bristol DA C. Samuel Sutter on Friday elevated the charges to murder against Ernest Wallace, 42, and Carlos Ortiz, 28, in relation to Aaron Hernandez' murder case. The District Attorney's Office did not give any reason for the change, according to Boston Globe.

Meanwhile, Aaron Hernandez is going to be arraigned again at Courtroom 906 of the Suffolk County in Massachusetts for the killing of Furtado and de Abreu, USA Todayreported.

The New England Patriots' former tight end is also going to enter his plea on three counts of armed assault with intent to murder as well battery with a dangerous weapon and illegal possession of firearms, the publication added.

Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said, per a Washington Post report, that Aaron Hernandez "stalked, ambushed and senselessly murdered" the two men without conscience.

"He then carried the deed so lightly on his conscience that he was able to joke about what he did on his summer vacation in interviews with NFL reporters," the Post added.

Aaron Hernandez's murder case indictment came on the heels of another indictment for assault and battery which was handed down by a grand jury in Bristol County following the altercation on Feb. 25 in which no man was seriously injured.

He was also indicted on allegations that he threatened a jailhouse worker back in November.
