These two teams have battled in three straight extra inning games going into the showdown on Monday. The Mets were able to win those of those games.

"We are getting tired, (but) they are great to win," manager Terry Collins told reporters on Sunday. "They lift the spirits up and it does get the energy up, even though you're tired physically. You know you can win these kinds of games."

Colon (4-5, 4.73 ERA) had nine strikeouts over 7 1/3 shutout innings in his last start, which might have been his best start of the season. He's now given the Mets two straight good starts after stumbling through two of his previous three.

"I just feel good when I'm at home," Colon told the team's website. "Now I've just got to get ready to pitch well on the road as well."

Hernandez (2-2, 3.76 ERA) allowed two runs on six hits and five walks with four K's in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Rockies. He has done the job as the No. 5 starter, despite being skipped and pitching out of the bullpen at times, according to MLB.com.

The Phillies have batted .209 on their 11-game homestand that ends Monday.

"(We've) got to be fundamentally sound to be a good ballclub," outfielder Domonic Brown said. "And we just have to keep battling and keep fighting to do the little things on the baseball field."
