Donald Sterling Attends Black Church After Making Racist Comments: Nothing Better To Do After Being Banned For Life From NBA?

Donald Sterling has some interesting ideas of making amends with the "black people" he referred to in the conversation that banned him from NBA. Donald Sterling made an appearance at an African-American church in south Los Angeles and took part in their service. Did he think he will be welcomed with open arms after making those racist comments that likened his Clippers players to plantation slaves? Maybe he had nothing better to do after being banned for life from NBA.

The church that Donald Sterling attended, with a score of bodyguard and a news crew, was the Praises of Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

"I'm here to support this wonderful group," Sterling told KNBC Channel 4. He then went to say that the service was "fabulous" and "beautiful."

The pastor of the Baptist church had a great response to this bizarre appearance. Instead of spitting in Donald Sterling's face, he, very graciously, said, "I want you to know, my friend, we pray for you."

Not everyone in the congregation last Sunday was brimming with Christian forgiveness and love. According to New York Magazine, at least one family left when Donald Sterling walked in. "I feel sorry for him because, first of all, he's a slum landlord," said a churchgoer. "And second of all, I don't think he really cares for people as he should."

If Donald Sterling is trying to clean up his message through this media stunt, he better think again because this appearance made him look more ridiculous than repentive.

According to the Los Angeles Times, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver fined Sterling $2.5 million, banned him for life from the league and started the process to end his ownership of the Clippers after the offensive and shocking audio recording.

Donald Sterling is currently fighting back against NBa's charges, saying that he should not be punished for a private conversation. "Therefore, I have no alternative but to exercise my legal rights," he wrote.

Good thing that he should up at an African-American church, rather than a Black power rally. The former group tend to be more forgiving towards ignorant schmuck like him!
