After giving up 11 hits and five earned runs against the Orioles in his first start, House held the White Sox to one run over 6 1/3 innings, issuing eight strikeouts to one walk, but took a no-decision, according to MLB.com.

"He had 13 groundouts in Baltimore, but the balls that got in the air got him in trouble," said Cleveland manager Terry Francona. "In Chicago, he kept throwing it where he wanted to, worked ahead in the count and had movement on the ball down, mixing in the changeup and breaking ball. It was really good. That was really encouraging."

When the Red Sox re-signed Stephen Drew, manager John Farrell said that Xander Bogaerts could see some starts at shortstop, particularly against left-handed pitching. However, Bogaerts will play exclusively at third for now, according to MLB.com. Drew is out of the lineup after making his debut last night.

"There's going to be some initial adjustment because of either one less hop or a more reactionary position," said Farrell. "Our approach in games with the alignment would be, at least in the short term, to have him at third base every day. When Stephen is not in the lineup, we'll have someone else at shortstop, whether that's [Jonathan] Herrera or [Brock] Holt just for a matter of continuity, at least in the first number of games with Xander at third base, just to avoid the bouncing back."
