WWDC 2014 Recap: Apple Is Merging Its Notebook And Mobile Platforms With Newly Released OS X 10.10 And iOS 8

WWDC 2014 is currently underway in San Francisco, and from what we have seen and heard so far, Apple is beginning to merge its different device platforms in terms of functions and features.

Since Apple launched its first MacBook, the platform where it runs has always been labeled as professional-looking and neat. However, in the keynote for the new OS X version, 10.10 a.k.a. Yosemite, the platform gets a new 'colorful' look which pique the interest of developers and experts during the event.

In fact, their looks resemble the same expression from developers when the iOS 7 was announced a year ago.

According to several reports from BGR and The Verge, the change of themes is not certainly a coincidence as the Cupertino manufacturer has been reported to unify its platforms for better file sharing and other functions.

In fact, the new features of iCloud, and Air Drop would enable syncing between two Apple devices seemless and effortless to say the most.

As for OS X 10.10, we haven't checked it out in full detail but that's because no MacBook is running it yet. But now that Yosemite is official, nothing is stopping Apple from unveiling its new lineup of Macbooks.

On the other hand, iOS is getting a major update in terms of features and functions. While iOS 7 gets a major change in its design and themes, iOS 8 offers a ton of new features for Apple fans and consumers.

Some of the new key features of Apple's loved mobile OS include a revamped keypad that now supports third party applications, an interactive notification center that allows users to 'interact' with notifications without launching the actual app, iOS Health which monitors health details of the user, and the new Apple HomeKit which enables Siri to control home automation functions.

Of course we have yet to see in detail how this works, but we're pretty excited that Apple might launch the new iPhone this week.
