U-KISS Kevin Apologizes On Twitter For 19+ 'Quit Playing' MV And Choreography

K-Pop boy band U-KISS made their comeback on June 2 with a new EP, Mono Scandal, and the lead single "Quit Playing ." Now a couple of days after its release, U-KISS member Kevin has taken to Twitter to apologize for the music video's 19+ choreography.

Prior to the release of their newest single "Quit Playing," NH Media's male idol group U-KISS revved up their fans by unveiling tantalizing teaser photos of the members that supported their new, more mature group image.

The music video for "Quit Playing" went public via the group's official YouTube channel and now has over 630,000 views. In it, the six members exhibit provocative dance moves that emulate sexual activity.

A rush of internet comments began flooding in soon after, with posts coming from fans and naysayers alike and ranging from those who delighted in the sexy imagery and updated look of the group to those who found the video disgusting or offensive.

Then, the day after its release, the choreography for "Quit Playing" was deemed inappropriate for broadcast on all of South Korea's major television networks. U-KISS and their agency agreed to modify the group's routine so that they may appear on the networks' music performance programs to promote the new single and EP.

However, 22-year-old member Kevin got on social media to clear the air with some fans who may have been upset by the video and choreography.

In a tweet sent out to his followers on June 6, Kevin wrote a heartfelt apology and explanation for the choreography used in "Quit Playing." He wrote,

"I want to share my heart with everyone because I care about you and I want to be honest with all of you. As you know, I'm part of a group and sometimes being a part of a group and working in the entertainment industry means I don't always have full creative freedom to do things how I wish. This inner conflict that I deal with as a K-Pop artist and group member applies to this situation. I personally do not believe in the behavior portrayed in our music video 'Quit Playing', and the characters we had to portray in this music video were not the characters I chose. I would like to apologize to our fans and viewers who might have been offended by the material in the music video and choreography. Thank you for allowing me to share my heart about this situation."

Meanwhile, "Quit Playing" marks the arrival of new member, Joon, to the group. With U-KISS rapper AJ currently on hiatus while he focuses on his studies at Columbia University in New York, the band has continued promoting without him.
