Tracy Morgan Tour Bus Crash: Truck Driver Charged With Death by Auto, Tracy Morgan Still in Critical Condition

Tracy Morgan Tour Bus Crash:  A Georgia truck driver was charged with death by auto and four counts of assault by auto in the Tracy Morgan tour bus crash. Tracy Morgan was critically injured in the accident and James McNair, a comedian on the tour was killed.

Morgan and three other passengers were hospitalized in the six-vehicle New Jersey crash. 63-year-old James McNair was killed when the luxury tour van flipped over. Tracy Morgan and another passenger were helicoptered to a hospital. Morgan, Jeffrey Millea, an unidentified 36-year-old man from Shelton, Ct., and a 43-year-old man from Jersey City, remain in critical condition. A fourth passenger was treated and released.

Dean Edward, who also performed on "Saturday Night Live," tweeted that Morgan's opener, Ardie Fuqua, and Millea were still hospitalized, and that another comedian, Harris Stanton, was released.

On Saturday morning around 1 a.m., Tracy Morgan was traveling back to New York from a tour date in Dover, Del., when his chauffeured Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van was caught up in a six-car pileup. According to reports, a tractor-trailer driver apparently failed to notice slowing traffic and swerved to avoid an accident. The truck hit the back of Morgan's limo van, flipped it over and causing a chain-reaction crash near Cranbury Township, N.J. A second tractor-trailer, an SUV and two cars were also involved.

Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Col. Joseph R. Fuentes, superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, announced that Kevin Roper, 35, of Jonesboro, Ga., was charged in the accident. The tractor-trailer he was driving crashed into Tracy Morgan's tour bus. Roper was expected to surrender to authorities. Bail has been set at $50,000.

Before the accident Fuqua tweeted a picture of himself about to get in the van on its way to New York City, saying "Road life is a good life!" he tweeted.

Four other vehicles were involved in the crash. The other vehicles' occupants were not injured.

According to authorities, there have been no indications that drugs or alcohol were involved.
