Emily Maynard A Bachelorette No More; Emily Maynard Marries Fiance Tyler Johnson in Surprise Wedding Masquerading As an Engagement Party

Former "Bachelorette" Emily Maynard is married and she thanks God for it. Emily Maynard wanted what "Bachelorette" wants, a real wedding. Emily Maynard, the former Bachelorette star, got married to fiance Tyler Johnson in a surprise wedding on June 7 in Sharon, South Carolina.

The 28-year-old North Carolina bride and single mom of an 8-year-old girl and her fiancé automotive management consultant Tyler Johnson didn't tell their friends they were going to a wedding. They told them they were going to an engagement party. They invited 200 family and friends to Johnson's family farm for an engagement party.

Emily and Tyler planned the surprise wedding for three months.

An insider told Us Magazie, "Emily met a bunch of relatives at a restaurant for lunch and they had presents for her."

Maynard  wore a strapless white ball gown with a floral, pale pink-toned bodice and satin sash and cowboy boots. The couple got engaged in January. Emily told People Magazine"God brought us together. He's given me such peace about everything. I'm so grateful I met him."

"We met at church," Maynard told Good Morning America appearance in January. "I think that's why our relationship is so good now, because we started out as friends."

"God brought us together," Maynard said. "He's given me such peace about everything. I'm so grateful I met him. ... For so long I felt so embarrassed and ashamed about that TV stuff ...  The grace that my faith has given me to wipe that all away and not find worth in that and find it through God, Tyler has been a great example of that for me. He has truly lived out God's grace every day."
