Moto 360 Watch Price, Release Date: Smartwatch To Be Priced Similar To Pebble Steel, Android Wear-Running & May Be Unveiled On Google I/O?

Moto 360 watch price, release date: The recently announced Moto 360 watch has a price and release date that is still unknown but speculations suggest that it may cost like the Pebble Steel, which is priced at $249. Reports suggest that the Android smartwatch maybe launched at Google I/O which begins June 25.

Specs of the unit include the Android Wear, the first OS dedicated for wearables by Google. Stuff.TV said that with the Moto X and Moto G smartphones, the smartwatch would seemingly continue to prove the company’s ability to create devices that are both affordable and high quality.

The company has yet to make any official announcement on the price of the Moto 360, but the smartphone maker leaked the value of the device based on the official rules of the Moto 360 contest.

The competition “Moto 360 Design Face-Off” allows users to design their own watch face for the Moto 360 using a photoshop template. The contest’s grand prize winner gets their own Moto 360, which Google has clearly labeled as having a $249 price tag according to the rules. Nine runner-ups will receive $50 Google Play gift cards. Motorola said that it can use any winning watch faces for marketing materials as well as actual watch models.

According to Toms Guide, the Moto 360 will be one of the first watches to run Google’s Android Wear OS for wearables. The look of the 360 includes a subtle and stylish design similar to a traditional smartwatch. It has a single button on the right side that resembles the crown found on analog watches. A departure on the style of other wrist-like wearables, the Moto 360 embodies more of the traditional look and feel of a watch.

The Motorola wearable will support Google Now voice commands and will allow users to receive Hangouts messages. The company however hasn’t specified whether or not the 360 can make calls like the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2.
