JLo A No-Show: World Cup 2014 Song ‘We Are One’ Won’t Be Performed With Jennifer Lopez At Opening Game Ceremony Following Boyfriend Casper Smart Split

JLo is a no-show: the World Cup 2014 song "We Are One" singer Jennifer Lopez won't perform at the opening game ceremony in Brazil. Is Jennifer Lopez skipping the World Cup 2014 because of her recent split from boyfriend Casper Smart? Or is she embarrassed following recent criticism of the "We Are One" song with Pitbull?

"Regretfully Jennifer Lopez will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies," JLo's rep told CNN in a statement late Sunday night.

FIFA officials said Jennifer Lopez cannot perform at the opening game ceremony on Thursday, June 12 as earlier planned because of unspecified "production issues," ABC News reports.

FIFA added in a news release that Cuban-American rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte will sing the official song "We Are One" before Brazil takes on Croatia at the World Cup 2014 opening game in Sao Paulo.

This past weekend, E! News confirmed Jennifer Lopez split from boyfriend Casper Smart after two years of dating. Perhaps the break up has hit the singer hard and she doesn't have the energy to head to Brazil for the performance.

As we previously reported, Brazilians are not happy with the World Cup 2014 song, and are longing for Shakira's World Cup 2010 song on Twitter, starting the hashtag "#VoltaWakaWaka." Brazilians are taking to Twitter to complain about the lack of Portuguese in the World Cup 2014 song "We Are One (Ole Ola)" by Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, and Claudia Leite.

According to Latin Post, one Twitter user wrote, "Why is the new world cup song mostly in Spanish and English? Me no likey."

Although Brazilian Claudia Leitte is featured in the official World Cup 2014 song, critics say they don't understand why Cuban-American rapper Pitbull and Bronx-born Puerto Rican singer Jennifer Lopez were chosen for the song when there are many talented musicians in Brazil to choose from, AP reports.

Brazilians are complaining on Twitter that the song World Cup 2014 song is mostly in English and Spanish, leaving only a few seconds at the end for Leitte to sing in her native Portuguese.
