Lunafly Gets Candid At Singapore Fan Meet: Reveal The Strangest Present Ever Received From Fans!

8 June 2014 - Lunafly was back in Singapore for the third time to greet their fans through Lunafly [From Us To You] Fan Meet, organized by Aurora Borealis.

The K-Pop Trio sensation, consisting of leader Sam Carter, Shin Tae Ho (Teo) and Han Seung Yun (Yun), first broke into the music scene through social media YouTube with their song, "How Nice Would It Be", earning them recognition for their creativity and impressive vocal abilities through their self-produced songs and various covers, including songs in English and Spanish.

The press conference got off to a lively start as Sam started the ball rolling with his usual charismatic candor.  Yun shared his appreciation of receiving mentions from fans during the group's frequent interactions with them via Twitter, where fans would often message him with notes such as "I love you" and "I miss you", as well as fans who would ask how his day was. Sam mentioned that fans would also share about their day, which was nice as well, and Yun added that despite that however, there were been times where "fans could come up  to greet me, but would quickly run away afterwards"!

Asked if they considered themselves an indie or mainstream group, Sam noted that while they "were never really involved in the indie music scene", their music is pretty unconventional by mainstream standards.  Rather than be classified as a "mainstream" or an "Indie" group, however, Sam coined a new term - "Maindies" - which is a combination of both.  Teo also reiterated that it is not likely that they would have presented themselves differently even if they had promoted their music through the conventional way.  Sam added, "Neither way is better nor worse than the other. For our kind of music, going the unconventional route suits us well".

The trios were especially candid when it came to talking about their fans and about each other. Sam mentioned that most interesting gift they ever received from a fan was a brassiere from Mexico (more specifically, Sam revealed that the gift was meant for Teo!) When asked if they've made any celebrity friends, Sam jokingly lamented that he knows the other two have more celebrity friends than him. Teo started dropping names in jest, such as EXO, Girl's Generation, and even international celebrities like Pussycat Dolls and Beyoncé, which Teo insisted "Just happend to be too busy to pick up my call".

Yun also talked his debut in a New Year short drama "There is a Blue Bird"as being a humbling experience where he has much to learn. Grilled on which movie roles they would like to play if given the opportunity, Yun said he would love to play a Mexican gangster, Sam said he would bypass the role of the main hero, while Teo said he was game any role that involves tender loving moments and a kissing scene!

At the end of the press con, the trio was happy to accommodate the photographers with some requests, going as far as to create a "sexy" pose for the camera. Sam even helped to unbutton Teo's shirt for a shot, which he jokingly explained, "Teo's collar bone is sexy!"  These fun-loving boys certainly know what fans want to see, and the press would be glad to have them back again soon.
