Rihanna and Drake break up 2014 not only prompted the 'Diamonds' songstress to wear a translucent Swarovski dress to the CFDA Awards 2014 but it reportedly motivated her to have a date with another man - Coldplay's frontman, Chris Martin.

The 26-year-old songstress recently went on a date with Gwyneth Paltrow's former husband. The two had a dinner date at Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. The Italian restaurant is reportedly a favorite place of the 'Viva La Vida' singer.

Such isn't the first time for Rihanna and Chris Martin to meet up. In 2012, the two had a collaboration for 'Princess of China,' a single included in the British rock band's album, 'Mylo Xyloto.'

The sighting came after the two had collaborated for "Princess of China" in April 2012 for Coldplay's album, "Mylo Xyloto."

"In like a dream scenario, we had a song that I'd secretly kind of written to see if Rihanna would want to sing it. And then the rest of the band wanted to keep it, so we came up with the idea of asking her to sing it with us, and, to our great surprise, she said okay," Martin previously told MTV.

The 'Every Teardrop is a Wonderfall' crooner said that "it took a while to pluck up the courage" to ask Rihanna if she'd agree to the collaboration. Even if Rihanna and Drake break up 2014 appears to be for real this time, one Hollywood Life source revealed that the date was nothing but a business meeting.

"Chris is nice, a real great guy who makes her laugh but in no way are they doing anything other than talking business and music. That's it and that's what they were discussing," revealed the insider who added that Martin's "not Rihanna's type."

The reason for Rihanna and Drake break up 2014 was not disclosed. Martin, on the other hand, confirmed his separation from Paltrow after 10 years of being together.

"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," their joint statement read.
