Charlie White got engaged in Hawaii to girlfriend Tanith Belbin as the "Dancing With The Stars" contestant expressed his elation over "the best time in our life."

The gold-medal winner proposed to figure skater Tanith Belbin, who also won a medal at the Olympics, broke the news of his engagement on his Instagram account on Tuesday, according to People.

Charlie White also captioned the photo: "Couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for the best time in our life! Hashtag she said yes!!!"

Prior to Charlie White being engaged to her, Tanith Belbin earlier said in previous interviews that she particularly doesn't mind when people think that her fiancé and his partner in the Olympics, Meryl Davis, are an item.

The publication noted that when Charlie White got engaged to Tanith Belbin, commenters on the social media have noted that they prefer that he ends up with Meryl Davis instead, People reported.

Charlie White claimed that Tanith Belbin had no reasons to be jealous because he underwent a similar experience in 2006.

"She won the silver medal in 2006 with her partner Ben Agosto, and people were always like, 'Are you guys dating?' It's just something you get as dancers. [Her understanding] makes my life so much easier," he said.

The news about Charlie White being engaged came in the wake of being booted from "Dancing With The Stars" after placing fifth. Meryl Davis, meanwhile, placed first with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy in "Dancing With The Stars."

According to Us Weekly, Charlie White talked about moving in with Tanith Belbin into their new house.

"I'm very much looking forward to moving in," he said in an interview with Us Weekly.  "It's by a river and I'm going to be walking with her and my dog alongside the river, taking a break-it's been a crazy year, and it's time to breathe!"
