The recent Manny Pacquiao news reveals that his equally famous trainer Freddie Roach is open to the possibility of pulling off a fight with his prized ward against Rulan Provodnikov. Meanwhile, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra would love to have "Pacman" hang out with the team.

The Boxing Writers Association of America's 2013 Trainer of the Year said that while he does not have an interest in the Manny Pacquiao versus Ruslan Provodnikov's bout, he is willing to give the Russian boxer what he wants.

"I still don't really have interest in that fight, but his manager came begging to me to make it happen, and I asked Ruslan, 'Do you really want to make that fight happen? You're going to lose me as a trainer, and have a slim chance of winning,'" Freddie Roach said of the Manny Pacquiao news during an interview with LA Times.

"Ruslan said, 'Well, we need big fights like that.' I said, 'If you want it, I'll give it to you,'" added Roach.

With the boxer's determination to pull off a fight against the eight-division world champion, Ruslan Provodnikov he needs to make an impressive win for his upcoming fight against Chris Algieri this Saturday.

"Most importantly, because now I'm a world champion and I'm defending my title, I have to fight like a world champion. I will try to finish the fight in a great fashion ... I always do," said Provodnikov.

Meanwhile, another Manny Pacquiao news revealed that Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is open to the possibility of having "Pacman" hang around him and his award-winning team.

In a report published in Yahoo Sports, Erik Spoelstra said : "I'd love to have him come out and spend some time with the team."

But the same does not mean that the Filipino boxing champion will soon be part of the coaching staff of Erik Spoelstra, who is also of Filipino descent.

Just recently, Manny Pacquiao made news after he was named as the head coach of a professional basketball team, Kia, for the Philippine Basketball Association.

Erik Spoelstra said he was not really surprised about "Pacman's" new career venture given that the boxer is "a tremendous fan of basketball and the NBA."
