U.S. Billboard States Psy Will Release Fun Dance Song, 'DADDY' This August

Psy will be releasing another hit this summer, following the success of his recent single "Hangover."

U.S. Billboard announced in an article on June 11 that Psy is preparing to release a "fun, dance song" this August.

"Reportedly coming in August, 'Daddy' is Psy's forthcoming official single with 'Hangover' acting as a pre-release track. This rollout method is common in K-Pop where artists typically release their official single, music video and album all at the same time. Occasionally, an act will drop a pre-release song, sometimes with an accompanying video, to further drum up anticipation," explained the music website.

The singer's agency, YG Entertainment, clearly follows Psy's vision when it comes to his music.

"Psy himself was the person who created 'Gangnam Style' syndrome all over the globe. It is only natural that we let him do what he wants. . . rather than analyzing the 'mega-viral' formula of his previous songs and forcing himself to create another one like it, doing what he wants to do now is the answer," stated YG's CEO Yang Hyung Suk.

Hopefully "Daddy" will enjoy the popularity that "Hangover" is currently getting. The music video has over 40 million views on YouTube.

Promotions for "Hangover" were more extravagant than those for his previous hits. Psy and Snoop Dogg made an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to launch the song on Sunday.

On the show, Kimmel, Psy and Snoop were seen heading to a local karaoke bar in Los Angeles, according to KTUU.

Psy is no stranger to being hung over, as we can guess from his recent single. The "Gangnam Style" singer reportedly admitted that he was actually hung over when "Hangover" came out during his interview with CNN.

The 36-year-old superstar opened about his experience working with rapper Snoop Dogg as well.

"We all know how diligent Snoop is. He is all about working hard every time -haha. I am just joking. I was very surprised working with him because he ended up shooting 20 different scenes in a short time - it was a tough schedule, but he was a total pro and I appreciated it so much," stated Psy.
