Though it was originally believed that Jennifer Lopez wouldn't be able to attend, her rep confirms that the singer will be there.

"Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremonies. We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature. Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of futbol. She will be there," her rep told People magazine.

JLo confirmed her attendance in an interview with The Associated Press.

"I'm coming. I leave tonight. We always were going," she said, Fox News Entertainment reports. "I think people get anxious, especially with me and my schedule when I'm like, 'Ah, OK, I can leave this day, that day, I don't know if we can make it.'"

"People get nervous and I think it was a little bit premature to announce anything," she said. "But we are definitely going."

Daphne Cornez, the artistic director, described the event, via FIFA.com: "The Opening Ceremony is a tribute to Brazil and its treasures: nature, people, football. The sense of excitement here is amazing and everyone is very motivated. It doesn't matter whether they're feeling tired or hot sometimes or if they have to go through routines again and again: they just keep on smiling. It's amazing."

Fans are also being promised a 25-minute routine of dancers, musicians, gymnasts, and trampolines.
