Selena Gomez' rehabilitation stint is reportedly the reason why cosmetic company Almay dumped her as its brand ambassador. Apart from the brunette beauty's rehab stay, her on-off relationship with Justin Bieber likewise contributed to the company's decision.

As per The Sun, Almay already did several photo shoots with the 'Come and Get It' singer. However, they opted to not push through with the endorsement and instead get Carrie Underwood as replacement.

In 2013, it has been reported that Selena Gomez' rehab sting indeed took place. As opposed to speculations that she received treatment for substance abuse, the 'Montecarlo' star said that she underwent rehab and counseling simply because she "lost sight" of herself.

"It was a decent payday for Selena and she was Almay's first choice. But once they got wind of her fortnight in rehab, they got cold feet. She had shot videos and all the press photos by the time they pulled the plug," claimed one of the magazine's sources.
