According to CBS Sports, Ivory Coast finally has a "fortuitous group" in Group C, after "back-to-back brutal groups in 2006 and 2010."

On the other hand, Japan "is looking to get back to the Round of 16 for the second-straight World Cup and the third time in the last four tournaments," the publication reports.

Japan's strength relies on its "clinical, precise passing, and they have the potential to pick apart the Ivory Coast's defense."

However, Didier Drogba is a force to reckon with, as is newcomer Yaya Toure.

"No doubt that he (Yaya Toure) is the player we need to be aware of, but they also have several players who play at the top level alongside him - strikers, central midfielders and defenders," Japan's midfield lynchpin Keisuke Honda said. "So we need to beware all of those players as well."

The Elephants scored 15 goals in qualifying, CBS Sports reports. Ivory Coast will "take advantage of their size and strength, an edge they possess over most teams in the field."

Japan head into the game having won their last five games, a run that included a 3-2 victory over Belgium in Brussels.
