Jason Momoa As Aquaman In Superman Sequel "Batman V. Superman" And Upcoming "Justice League" Movie Rumors Confirmed [PHOTO]

It may be time to stop picking on Aquaman as the lamest member of the Justice League. Jason Momoa, most famous for his role as Kahl Drogo in Game of Thrones, has been cast to play Aquaman in the upcoming Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Rumors of Momoa's involvement in the franchise have been circulating in recent months, to the point where Momoa publicly told journalists to stop asking him. This is the first actual confirmation of the actors role.

While the rumors have not been confirmed by Warner Bros., according to Hitflix.com, director Zack Snyder has already finalized designs for the character in preparation for the beginning of shooting.

He is rumored to cameo in Batman V. Superman, before moving on to a larger role in the upcoming Justice League movie.

DC's Aquaman has undergone several reimaginings, from Arthur Curry, the son of a lighthouse keeper and a woman from the lost city of Atlantis who has the ability to survive underwater and communicate with sea creatures, to Orin, a native Atlantan who was abandoned because he was said to be a curse. As of this writing, there is no information regarding how this incarnation Aquaman will be portrayed.

The plot of Batman V. Superman is said to revolve around the events of the last film, specifically repercussions over Superman's fight with Zod. Many speculate that Aquaman will be brought in as part of a plot line dealing with damage done to the Indian Ocean during the fight.

Momoa's Casting may indicate that Warner Bros. is close to announcing a final roster for the long awaited Justice League movies. Until then, it may be a good idea to ease off the Aquaman jokes.
