Psy Becomes First Asian Singer To Have 3 Songs Rank In The 'Top 30' On The Billboard 'Hot 100' Chart

Psy continues to make headlines with his recent hit "Hangover."

"Hangover" ranked No. 26 on the Billboard singles chart, according to Billboard on June 18.

This makes the Korean sensation the first Asian singer to have three songs rank in the top 30 on the Billboard "Top 100" chart.

"The track starts with 90 percent of its chart points from streaming, entering Streaming Songs at No. 4 with 7.3 million U.S. streams (97 percent of which are from Vevo on Youtube video views)," stated the U.S. music magazine.

Psy first entered the Billboard "Hot 100" chart back in September 2012 with his single "Gangnam Style," which ranked at No. 69, according to The Global Post. The song, which recently passed a billion views on YouTube, ranked No. 2 for 7 weeks in a row.

His second single "Gentleman" ranked at No. 12 in April of last year and went all the way up to fifth place.

The music video for "Hangover" has garnered 69 million views on YouTube as of Thursday morning, 10 days after its release.

For those who have yet to see the hilarious video, the 5-minute clip shows Psy and rapper Snoop Dogg fully indulging in the South Korea's drinking culture and nightlife. The two superstars choose to drink more to cure their hangovers from the night before, and then explore Korean's karaoke room, convenience store, billiard hall and sauna.

In the midst of his new track's ongoing success, the performer returned to performing the song that made him a worldwide sensation on June 18.

The 36-year-old singer performed "Gangnam Style" in Seoul's district of Gangnam for the first time in honor of the World Cup, according to the publication radio.com.

South Korea's soccer team was set to play their first game in the Brazil World Cup against Russia, which ended in a 1-1 tie.

Despite fans' expectations for Psy to sing "Hangover," the singer had his reasons not to.

"I won't be singing my recently released song today. I can't sing about hangovers when cheering for our national team," Psy reportedly told the crowd.
