Flintstones Movie To Save Dying WWE Empire? John Cena, Vince McMahon & CM Punk To Star In Animated Film To Be Released In Direct-To-Home Video Platforms

The Flintstones movie is going to have a WWE crossover! Vince McMahon, John Cena and CM Punk are going to star as Vince McMagma, John Cenastone and CM Punkrock.

Warner Bros. and WWE Studios have teamed up to bring the wrestlers of WWE are going back in time that will be released exclusively on direct-to-home video platforms first quarter on 2015.

The Flintstones movie is going to be filled with WWE stars that will be distributed by Warner Home Video in all home video platforms, with WWE promoting the project on its TV shows, magazine, websites and live events.

"The Flintstones" movie is going to be the second animated co-production between the two companies following "Scooby-Doo" film which will bring the WWE stars in an adventure mystery to be released in March, before "WrestleMania 30" airs.

John Cena has been actively involved in an ongoing joke with "Flintstones" over the past several years, which will definitely extend following the deal.

Cena has been dubbed as "fruity pebbles," with his fondness in wearing brightly colored shirts and hats, and insult that was built during his feud with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

On that note, WWE took advantage of the scene to which they decided to brokered an endorsement deal with Post Cereals that put Cena on the boxes of Fruity Pebbles ad Cocoa Pebbles - replacing Fred Flintstone - as way to promote "WrestleMania" and other pay-per-view programs for the past two years.

The cereal, introduced in 1971, features characters from "The Flintstones" and is the oldest cereal brand based on characters from a TV series or movie.

The team up has lead WWE to become more of a family-friendly entertainment catered for the younger audience.

 "WWE is family-friendly entertainment, so partnering with Warner Bros. on a Flintstones-WWE project was a natural extension of our 'Scooby-Doo' deal," said Michael Luisi, president, WWE Studios. "This new, animated feature allows us to showcase our brand with young fans and loyal Flintstones enthusiasts alike."

Warner Bros. on the other hand, has been able to create a buzz around its aging brands - "Flintstones" and "Scooby-Doo."

 "Warner Bros. is thrilled to continue our partnership with WWE Studios as we begin production of the latest 'Flintstones' animated feature," said Jeff Brown, executive VP and general manager, TV, Warner Home Video. "Our recent production collaborations have proven successful and we have the utmost confidence that the latest tag team between the WWE Superstars and The Flintstones will deliver the same results."
