Ken Jeong Cast In Leading Role For Steve Carell's Newest Movie 'International Incident' [PHOTO]

Ken Jeong left the life of a successful doctor to pursue the art of acting like a crazy person, which seems, to most of us at least, a crazy decision. That decision is about to pay off in dividends for Jeong, as he has been announced as the lead in Steve Carell's new movie "International Incident."

The film was written by David Javerbaum, head writer for the "Daily Show" as well as NBC's "The Maya Rudolph Show." The Steve Carell and Javerbaum worked together on "The Daily Show" before Carell's "The 40 Year Old Virgin" fame, when Carrel still worked on the Daily Show. The two also worked together on on Comedy Central's 2001 special "Steve Carell Salutes Steve Carell."

Charlie Hartsock and Vance Degeneres of Carousel Productions, Carell's production company, crafted the pitch, picked the talent, and are bringing the project to fruition. It will be produced in conjunction with Lions Gate productions.

"International Incident" is Ken Jeong's first lead in a studio film. After he left his successful career as a doctor, he played primarily supporting characters best described as "that crazy guy. He was "Community's" Professor Chang, and "The Hangover's" Leslie Chow, generally unstable, dangerous, but somehow lovable crazy people. The plot of "International Incident" revolves around several members from the U.N. going on a road-trip to find one of the character's long lost love.

There is no word yet as to who will be playing the five other people going along for the ride with Ken Jeong.
