20th FIFA World Cup: Knee Injury of Portugal’s Ronald, a career ending injury

The Portuguese striker and Ballon d'Or winner missed several plays of Portugal from the Pre-World Cup due to thigh injury but reported 100 percent healed before the game against the Germans that went on the team to lose with a score of 4-0.

                Ronaldo has been suffering from knee and leg injuries after series of games in this World Cup. He had also MRI scan which shows serious pressure in the left knee that might risk of ending his career if he decided to finish out the upcoming plays of Portugal in Brazil. According to his doctor, if Ronaldo continues to play for this season it will cause for his patellar tendon in his left knee beyond repair. The Portuguese new source, El Confidential, reported that Surgeon Jose Carlos Noronha said, "Let your knee rest, or your future is in danger." Ronaldo, on the other end, stated," I'm the one that says whether I'm playing or not."

                A couple of times, Ronaldo left early on the team training last Tuesday with a bag of iced tape to his injured knee. Whether Ronaldo will play or not, it is uncertain with several teammates out because of serious injuries and one red card. However, they look forward on the match against US this Sunday and keep their hopes high in forwarding on to the ranking of Group G.
