20th FIFA World Cup: “Yes it was tough,” Netherlands on Australia

The past games of Team Netherlands left them flying up high in the air. But after the last game with Australia, the team were brought back down to the earth. "Yes it was tough," Van Persie told FIFA.

"But welcome to the World Cup! This is the biggest tournament in the world, with the very best players, so you know you will have a hard time. That was the case against Australia, and it will also be the case next week and the week after that. As I said, this is the World Cup. But the main thing is that we are through. I don't anyone expected that after two matches and it's very nice situation for us to be in." (Resource Fifa.com)

Van Persie believes it is like a one heck of a wakeup call for them as they tag themselves as the not-so-experienced players.

"As soon as I scored, I had a good feeling again that we could win it. And especially from my point of view, I wanted it extra badly because I knew I wouldn't be in the team next match and that annoys me."

Persie is suspended for the next play against Chile.

The team will work hard to secure top spot in Group B. They admitted that Australia played very well but they like that kind of pressure. From the previous game, the Dutch think that they certainly did not play well in the first half. And because of ball is round, it is expected to created unexpected things.

"Match like this, which you need to win. It's our credit that we did that," team Netherlands exclaimed.
