Henry Cavill news, update: The British heartthrob has captured everyone’s heart when he played the role of “Superman” in “Man of Steel.” He is reprising the role in the upcoming sequel “Batman vs. Superman,” now scheduled to launch in May 2016.

According to the comprehensive Henry Cavill fansite, HenryCavill.org, the 31-year-old actor may play Clark Kent/Superman at least four times between now and 2018. The fansite’s blog cited famous Hollywood journalist and Deadline.com founder Nikkie Finke as source.

Finke published the plans of Warner Bros on her new blog, which the studio is expected to announce at Comic Con this July. Below are the preliminary release dates of the DC comic book movies as Finke unveiled and HenryCavill.org published:

May 2016 — Batman v Superman
July 2016 — Shazam
Xmas 2016 — Sandman
May 2017 — Justice League
July 2017 — Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 — Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 — Man Of Steel 2

The fan site noted that if Warner Bros proceeds with its plans for these movies, it could mean that Cavill will appear as Superman in at least four movies. This does not include any cameos he does in several others.

Assuming that the films will be released each year until 2018, it may also indicate that “Superman” will be wearing the navy suit with the S-shield for a long time. This brings to mind: Will the actor have time to pursue other opportunities aside from his “Superman” role.

Before the “Batman vs. Superman” sequel, the Hollywood star filmed a movie with Armie Hammer and Guy Ritchie in Rome titled the “Man from U.N.C.L.E,” which is scheduled to be release in 2015.

If the schedule comes to pass and the British actor takes the role of Superman in at least four flicks, he would have joined the ranks of actors like Elijah Wood, Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Cruise; men who has become prominent faces for their respective franchises.
