Rumor: Star Wars Episode 7 To Be Delayed Due To Harrison Ford's Broken Leg: Studio Executives Had Meeting About Delays This Morning [PHOTO]

Ever since Harrison Ford broke his leg on the set of Star Wars 7, there has been a lot of speculation about how it will affect the shooting schedule for the film. Recent rumors suggest the movie may be significantly delayed due to Harrison Ford's broken leg.

As a recap, two weeks ago Harrison Ford was airlifted to the hospital after a pneumatic door slammed shut on his leg while filming for Star Wars 7 on set at Pinewood studios in England. At first people thought that it was a broken ankle, but later reports confirmed that it was indeed a broken leg. Harrison Ford has since left the hospital and begun the road to recovery which may take as much eight weeks, one that we all wish him luck on.

The question is, how will loosing this central actor effect Star Wars 7 production and its eventual release date?Jedinews, a website based in England, has announced that "We're hearing via a number of sources that production on Episode VII could be delayed due to the severe nature of Harrison Ford's leg injury. We understand a meeting was called this morning at Pinewood to discuss the situation, but the early word is that production of the film could be pushed back by a substantial amount of time. Please be clear - this is just a rumour until Lucasfilm, Bad Robot or Disney say otherwise. Let's sincerely hope it is incorrect."

What exactly are the sources, and what is "a substantial amount of time" is unclear. Disney has yet to officially confirm any date change, however, and would do everything in its power to not loose a Christmas release. Studios often find ways to work around injured stars, so all we know right now is that the movie will likely be delayed, but by how much is unsure.

If everything works out, and they manage to stick to the schedule, the movie should be released in December 2015.
