The Fault in Our Stars' cast Ansel Elgort has confirmed his participation in an upcoming biographical film about late pianist Van Cliburn. The drama will be an adaptation of Howard Reich's novel about the young pianist who rose to fame when he won the first ever quadrennial International Tchaikovsky Piano competition in Moscow organized by the USSR.

After decades of playing the piano in various prestigious shows where several U.S. presidents also became members of the audience, Cliburn retired in 1978. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 78 because of bone cancer. 'The Fault in Our Stars' cast Ansel Elgort will be playing Cliburn's young version.

On his social networking sites, the New York-born actor hinted about his new project: "Some good news on the movie front :)." He has just finished filming for 'Men, Woman, and Children' which also starred Adam Sandler. He is also currently filming for 'Insurgent,' the sequel of 'Divergent' where he plays the role of Shailene Woodley's brother.

'The Fault in Our Stars' cast Ansel Elgort is proud to have a comfortable relationship with the 22-year-old actress.

"We're comfortable with each other. We trust each other. It was good, we're pretty honest with each other and we're both pretty honest with ourselves," he revealed in an interview with HeyUGuys.

Woodley also has the same sentiment for his co-star: "We instantly connected, and before Fault even came around for him, we struck up a really close friendship and instantaneously became very brother-sister."

Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley are nothing but friends for the actor is reportedly in a relationship with Violetta Komyshan, a senior student from LaGuardia High School where he also studied.

Andrew Stern will be writing the script of the upcoming biopic.
