Mortal Kombat X Release Date Rumors And Trailer: Amazon Accidentally Announces 10 Release Date: New Gory Cinematic Video Featuring X-Ray Moves

Finish him! Mortal Kombat X has a release date announced, kind of.

Amazon accidentlly put up a listing for the game prematurely. Though the listing has since been removed, MP1st managed to take a screengrab. The release date given was a vague 2015, but because it went up prematurely there's no way of knowing how accurate this is.

The 10th iteration of the "Mortal Kombat" franchise is expected to be the most graphically polished, and the most gory.

"Mortal Kombat X" is being developed by NetherRealm Studios, "Mortal Kombat X" will be adopting some key gameplay elements found in its predecessor, as well as in another hit fighting game: "Injustice: Gods Among Us." These features include an energy meter introduced in "Mortal Kombat (2011)."

The key new feature in "Mortal Kombat X" is the ability to deliver X-Ray moves, which allow players to watch themselves break their opponents' insides. And for the first time in a Mortal Kombat game, players will be able to interact with their environment.

The official news release describes the game as "cinematic" and "fully connected":

"Mortal Kombat X combines cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever, offering a new fully connected experience that launches players into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy. For the first time, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style. Players step into an original story showcasing some of the game's most prolific characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil and tie the tale together."

"Mortal Kombat has always been about over-the-top, visceral fighting and with Mortal Kombat X we wanted to utilize the power of new-gen consoles to give players our most intense game yet," Boon said. "The team has worked hard to make sure Mortal Kombat X delivers everything fans expect along with new characters, new game modes and an all-new graphics engine."

"Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay to create an unprecedented Kombat experience," said the description of the trailer's YouTube video.

"Mortal Kombat X" will look to build on the success of "Mortal Kombat 2011", which was included in PCMag's The Most Violent Video Games of All Time.

Again, the game has an indefinite release date for 2015 and will be available for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. In the meantime, you can watch this trailer.
