One post from NeoGAF recently went viral because of the information it revealed regarding Resident Evil 7 release date. As per the report, three characters will be returning to the game.

"There are three returning characters. Two female and one male. Two haven't been seen in over a decade and one has never had an "in-game" appearance. Guess away. That's more than enough," read one of the screenshots attached to the post.

"Regarding the one who doesn't appear in-game, I should be a little more specific (because I'm sure someone will call me a liar for being too general). They are mentioned in games but are a background character with no 'active' appearance yet. It's not someone from the movies/comics," hinted another screenshot.

Much to the disappointment of fans, Load the Game speculates that Alice from the 'Resident Evil' films might not be included in the upcoming game: "A RE game with Alice as the main protagonist sounds like a great idea to be honest."

Apart from rumors about Resident Evil 7 release date, the game will allegedly not be titled that way. Gamers should expect the title to be close to 'Resident Evil: Revalations.' Another NeoGAF user says that the upcoming game is not a sequel.

"One thing is for sure, fans will scrutinize their screens during coming days and weeks and this is where the REVELATION will unfold," posted the user named Hank.

For Resident Evil 7, Capcom is reportedly determined to come up with "horrific effects" for the last three installments of the game failed to meet the success of its predecessors. Some gamers pointed out that the last three installments did not meet their expectations when it comes to special effects.

Capcom has not yet released a statement regarding the leaked spoilers.
