2014 FIFA World Cup: Costa Rica, making history in Brazil

The Costa Rica had their greatest fever after their football team made it to the last eight of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The chants of "Oѐ oѐ oѐ Ticos, Ticos" echoed everywhere. What we meant for saying everywhere was it was heard in the streets, houses and even in the meeting places throughout the land of Costa Rica. Not only their voices were unified but also the great red shirts conquered the bodies of the Ticos.

Big screens were up in the cities of Alajuela, San Jose and Cartago that stood up like magnets taken thousands of fans who crossed their fingers for experiencing two hours of football last Sunday.

"Costa Rica will win 2-0. We're going to make history today," one Tico fan exclaimed. He bejeweled with the national colours, his face was red, white and blue. Others were even more certain about their team's chances: "5-0. Today we're going to show the world who Costa Rica are."

"It's crazy. We've been planning for this for the last two days. We've got family and friends here and everyone's wearing the red shirt," said Kenneth Villalobos, as he contemplated the joyful scenes at his house. (Source: FIFA.com)

It must have been a great mark for the Costa Rica. Places in the land became instant epicenters of the celebrations such as the Fuente de la Hispanidad in the capital San Jose. The people were shouting their hearts out by saying, "Yes we could."

"We want more. We want the Netherlands," people from the cars cried out loud and the fans partied like it's the end of the world as if it is literally no tomorrow.

But reality check: there was tomorrow and when the sunshine of Monday came out, they are back in their jobs once more and there are other things that need to be accomplished before getting crazy again for the next matches of team Costa Rica; assuming that the buzz in their workplace will be filled with nothing but football issues.

Indeed, the Ticos are making history now in Brazil.
