Amanda Knox Murder Case [UPDATE]: Retrial Conviction Could Be Upheld After Ex Lover Raffaele Sollecito Throws ‘Foxy Knoxy’ Under The Bus; Appeal In Jeopardy

Amanda Knox murder case could turn for the worse for "Foxy Knoxy" as the UW student's ex-lover Raffaele Sollecito is prepared to throw her under the bus, and which could place her retrial appeal in jeopardy.

In a report by MYNorthwest, the final appeal of Raffaele Sollecito will impact on the Amanda Knox murder case as the Italian is now trying to distance himself from the murder suspect in an attempt to save his skin.

This time, Raffaele Sollecito-through his lawyers-is saying that he was alone at home at the time of the murder.

That statement was in stark contrast to the claims of the former lovers that they were together on the fateful date of November 1 while Meredith Kercher was stabbed multiple times with a blunt object.

"It's stunning because we've been hearing consistently Raffaele Sollecito had been corroborating Amanda Knox's account, essentially an alibi," says Anne Bremner, the attorney for the Friends of Amanda Knox, the website added.

According to CNN, the recent interviews of Raffaele Sollecito was telling in terms of the legal strategy his lawyers are now using.

"The focus was all on Amanda through her peculiar behaviour," Raffaele Sollecito said in an interview with CNN. "In my case I really did nothing wrong and I don't want to pay for someone else's peculiar behavior."

Earlier this month, Amanda Knox murder case trial lawyers asked Italy's Court of Last Resort to review the retrial conviction of the UW student on the murder of Meredith Kercher in 2007. The Court of Cassation might issue its ruling on the petition late this year.

In a report by the Associated Press, defense lawyer Luciano Ghirga filed the paperwork to the Court of Cassation, which is considered as Italy's highest criminal court.

The defense filed the appeal after studying the written rationale of the appeals court in April that virtually reinstated the lower court's conviction on the Amanda Knox murder case trial.
