U.S. Billboard Spotlights g.o.d's Comeback With 'Sky Blue Promise'

g.o.d is officially making their comeback.

U.S. Billboard published an article spotlighting the legendary idol group's upcoming comeback via their K-Town column on July 1.

The article was published in the midst of g.o.d's release of their track "Sky Blue Promise."

"In the feel-good R&B track, the g.o.d members croon and rap their feelings about returning to the K-pop scene after a decade away. The guys reminisce about their initial promotions (mentioning their former record label JYP Entertainment, on the chorus) and wax about being 30 and 40-year-olds promoting in K-pop today," wrote columnist Jeff Benjamin.

The writer for the music magazine added, "But the main takeaway is that g.o.d feels guilty about the hiatus, but is overjoyed about reuniting with fans. The title 'Sky Blue Promise' refers to the band's official fan club color and a pledge to said fan club that they said they would return one day."

Although the return of the K-pop group took 10 years, the band proves that they've still got it when it comes to collaborating and making music together.

"Sky Blue Promise" has topped 9 music charts since its release on July 1.

The track is their second comeback song following "The Lone Duckling," which was released in May.

g.o.d's full comeback album will drop on July 8.

In the midst of their highly anticipated return to the Korean music industry, the band has been getting fans excited by releasing teasers, giving their devoted fans a snippet of their process.

The first teaser was focused on Son Ho Young while the second put the spotlight on fellow g.o.d member Danny Ahn.

The most recent teaser was Kim Tae Woo's, showing the producer singing in the studio. Kim will also reportedly be producing the album for the group.

g.o.d will launch their 15th anniversary concert at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on July 12 and 13, according to the publication Allkpop.
