President Obama recently called up Tim Howard to tell him to shave his beard! Why is the POTUS getting involved in the much-beloved U.S. goalie Tim Howard's facial hair? Turns out it was a friendly advice for Tim Howard in dealing with the mobs of fans that he may face when he steps off the plane. All jokes aside, President Obama congratulated the captain Clint Dempsey and the goalie Tim Howard in a heartfelt manner as they prepare to depart Brazil World Cup 2014.

What an honor to talk to the President! Obama definitely didn't skimp on any praising for these rather disappointed players.

Obama told Clint and Tim, "As somebody whose first sport was soccer - although I was never that good - to see the ways you guys captured the hearts and the imaginations of the whole country is unbelievable. This is the first time where I think you really ended up having an entire country focused."

The president called the players nothing short of national heroes in his short two-minute phone conversation.

Obama didn't forget to give some facial hair advice to the mega star goalie Tim Howard.

"Tim," he said. "I don't know how you're going to survive the mobs when you come back home, man. You're going to have to shave your beard so they don't know who you are."

To wrap up the conversation, Obama added, "What you guys accomplished is really, really significant" and also extended an invitation to the White House.
