2014 FIFA World Cup: Netherlands-Argentina, a classic battle in World Finals.

Team Netherlands and Team Argentina both made remarkable actions for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. Ever since the final draw was made, the two competitive teams have been eyeing each other with so much sensitivity that there would be a chance for their paths to cross for the semi-final round. And voila! That's exactly what will happen this Wednesday in Sao Paulo.

The upcoming match will be the fifth between the two countries in the world finals. It all started at Germany in 1974 when Johan Cruyff double scored as the Oranje routed LaAlbiceleste 4-0 after two rounds, from which the Dutch made it to the finals.

Then, the bittersweet revenge of Argentina happened four years later in beating the Dutches 3-1 for the Final. Mario Kempes recalled in his interview with FIFA.com, "It wasn't the most beautiful goal, but it was the most exciting. I think people were even trying to blow it over the line. It was touch and go, but it went in eventually."

The Netherlands waited until in France 1998 to grab consolation, with Dennis Bergkamp amazingly scored during the last minute that give them a 2-1 quarter final victory over the Argentina.

The recent meeting was at Germany in 2006. The game ended in a goalless draw that paved way to the South Americans to advance as section winners.

There are several review matches, highlight encounters and other available materials that will prove that Netherlands and Argentina can be counted as "familiar foes".
