2014 FIFA World Cup: "I'm ready," Luiz.

The ala Karate kick of the frizzy locks David Luiz sent the hosting team Brazil into the semi-finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

In the absence of the star player Neymar and suspended captain Thiago Silva - the most expensive defender, Luis The Maverick, must lead the play against Germany in Belo Horizonte this Tuesday. He is said to be the most expensive ever, according to FIFA.com, after having an 85-million-dollar move from Chelsea to Paris Saint-Germain only last month, he kicked the majority of his final season in the Premier League in midfield.

"I'm ready, I'm vice-captain. This group is very easy to handle because everyone is humble and fun. We act as a family, a unit," Luiz explained to FIFA.com after being asked on how his role will change without Neymar and Silva.

With no Neymar in the picture, Luiz becomes Brazil's face of the World Cup. The man already rivalled his poster boy team-mate for commercials and other endorsements.

The hosting team will face a huge battle against someone in a form of a German team. "They are a great team with a great philosophy of how to play football," Luiz said. "They have a lot of great players, a great coach and it will be a great game. It is a World Cup semi-final."

Luiz will embrace good memories of Germany's Bayern contingent too. In the Champions League of UEFA back in 2012, he spearheaded an amazing defensive display from Chelsea in the absence of captain John Terry to deny the Germans from taking home the European club football's biggest prize.

A similarly epic effort will be the secret recipe to prevent the Germans in producing the same pain on Brazil in Belo Horizonte.
