iOS 7.1 jailbreak: After being tested, hackers discovered that Pangu’s iOS 7.1 jailbreak can be used to crack down even the most recent iOS 7.1.2 update, and it can be used in both Mac and Windows, according to reports. It turns out that Apple once again overlooked Pangu’s tool during its software update, enabling it to provide an untethered jailbreak.

Now here comes the irony: The problem, however, is that the jailbreak’s features are stolen, claimed another hacker.

Jailbreaker Stefan Esser pointed fingers at the Chinese Team, saying that Pangu “thieves” stole and exploited his work. He also claimed that the iOS 7.1 jailbreak contains “malware from China.”

For a quick recap, hackers develop glitches in the Apple system called jailbreak. This allows users to install apps that aren’t allowed via the Apple Store. For many years Apple has been on a crusade in trying to pull out this weed from their system as it continues to greatly damage their business.

After the release of the iOS 7.1.2 update, hackers have tried to crack it down. Eventually, Chinese team Pangu succeeded. At first, it was only written in Chinese, but later it was updated to English.

“Yesterday’s iOS 7 update featured relatively minor tweaks and big fixes, but one of the more surprising things about it is what it didn’t address; It appears that the Pangu jailbreak tool — which can provide an untethered jailbreak using either a Windows or Mac computer — was not on Apple’s “To Destroy” list for the most recent update, as the software works on iOS 7.1.2 just as it did on 7.1.1,” according to a report from Tuaw.com.

“Like the Evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 7, using Pangu is pretty straightforward once you download the tool. One weird thing you need for the jailbreak to work is to adjust your device’s internal date in Settings to June 2nd and turn off the ‘Set Automatically’ option. The tool will walk you through the process as you jailbreak,” says Cult of Mac.
