'Gears of War 4' Release Date Update: Lester Speight Confirms That Cole Train Will Return For 4th Installment of Game, Epic Games Has Sold "Gears Of War" Franchise To Microsoft [PHOTO]

At E3 this year, fans were expecting to hear about "Gears of War 4" release date, but Microsoft stayed quiet on the game, with no trailer, no announcement, no nothing, leaving fans to speculate.

However, some information recently surfaced when voice actor Lester Speight esponded to a fan's twitter question of whether or not he would be reprising his role in the game.

"@MistaPeerez: @lesterspeight have you gotten a call about a new gears? You have to reprise your role! #whoobaby" "Yup!"

Speight has confirmed that he had been called to lend his voice to Augustus "Cole Train" Cole, who was a supporting character in the game. His return implies that there will be no major reboot that would eliminate the game's main characters, such as Marcus Fenix, Anya Stroud and Damon Baird.

Microsoft has been especially tight lipped about the "Gears of War 4" and its release date. All that is known is that Black Tusk Studios is creating the game with Unreal Engine 4. Black Tusk Studios is a studio owned by Microsoft and based in Vancouver.

Black Tusk Studios is a rebranded Microsoft Game Studios Vancouver. The company has yet to release a game, but they are staffed by a team that averages 12 years in the industry. The studio is headed up by studio manager Rod Fergusson, who fans may recognize as a producer who helped create Gears of War back at Epic Games.

"Gears of War " has been one of Microsoft's most iconinc and financially sucessful exclusively owned properties. The "Gears of War" IP has been sold by Epic Games directly to Microsoft. This means that the game will always be a franchise exclusive to Xbox.

Other than the developer and that there will be one character from the previous game, no other details are known about "Gears of War 4" release date. If they have voice actors involved however, it is a safe bet to say they are somewhere in the last half of production.
