Best Laptops On The Market: Lenovo Thinkpad W530 VS MacBook Pro; Battle Of The Laptop Titans; Compare Specs; Which Flagship Model Is The Better Choice?

Best laptops on the market: When it comes down to good old fashioned quality and hard core specs, the Lenovo ThinkPad W530 and the MacBook Pro with Retina display are head-to-head in the ring match. If you’re the kind of user who needs a heavy-duty laptop, then sit back and stay tuned to the bout of the two titans.

WEIGH-IN: GENERAL SPECS

The Lenovo ThinkPad W530 sports a 15.6-inch display with a 1600x900 resolution, Windows 8 operating system, 4 GB RAM, and an internal storage of 500 GB, powered by an Intel Core i7 processor.

On the other hand, the MacBook Pro with Retina display has a slightly smaller 15.4-inch display with a much higher 2880x1800 resolution, 8 GB RAM and a 128 GB internal storage, also powered by an Intel Core i7 processor.

ROUND 1: BODY

The black ThinkPad W530 is only slightly bigger than the silver MacBook Pro. As a result, the Lenovo model (5.95 lbs.) is more than a pound heavier than the latter (4.46 lbs.). When it comes to portability, the MacBook Pro is more recommended for its lighter, yet still sturdy-looking body.

ROUND 2: DISPLAY QUALITY

Basing on the size of the screens, the 15.6-inch W530 is a larger than the 15.4-inch Pro. Then again, because of its Retina display, the MacBook laptop sports a higher resolution at 2880x1800. If you are after a bigger viewing experience, then the W530 is a no brainer. But if you are after a clearer screen and more crisp viewing (perhaps for video or photo editing), then the Pro is definitely a keeper.

ROUND 3: PERFORMANCE

The two flagship models have the same Intel i7 processor. That is, however, the biggest similarity that you can find between the two. Because its i7 processor is clocked at 3.6GHz, the W530 is faster and smoother than the 2GHz of the Pro. The former also has 500 GB of internal storage, while the latter only has 128 lbs. The MacBook Pro answers back with a 8 GB RAM. It has twice more than the RAM of W530.

VERDICT:

The score cards are in. You are now left to choose one or the other. Each has its own distinct strength and weakness. But it is up to us to decide if the Lenovo ThinkPad W530 or the MacBook Pro with Retina display will fit our requirement and taste.
