Wimbledon Winner Petra Kvitova Threatened By Man: Moves To Monaco To Avoid Boyfriend Radek Stepanek, Not To Evade Tax?

Petra Kvitova is perhaps the least liked Wimbledon winner. Eugenie Bouchard, the runner up this year seem to get more spotlight than she did. Petra Kvitova recently moved to Monaco and has been under fire for not paying her taxes in her home country, Czech Republic. What's more is that she recently received a phone call from a man threatening her. She may have moved to Monaco just to get away from her boyfriend Radek Stepanek, but it looks like she's being criticized for all sorts of thing!

Petra Kvitova got a home call from a man making threats for the phone. According to the AP, this man was arrested because the "threats were considered serious".

This all arose from a rumor that the Wimbledon 2014 winner moved to Monaco to evade taxes. While Czech Republic's tennis star's move to Monte Carlo is not unheard of in the tennis world, some Czech people are taking this as a sign of not wanting to pay taxes.

A Czech politician named Stanislav Humi even went as far as declaring the need to revoke the Wimbledon winner's citizenship. .

"I think that we should all have a long and hard think about the fact that if someone leaves the Czech Republic and becomes a member of another state, then they should lose their Czech citizenship. Because I don't know that the few percent less in taxes that she stands to pay in a country like Monaco deflects from the fact that perhaps the Czech Republic actually helped her achieve some of her success".

Unlike the popular belief, she actually may have moved to Monaco, not for tax purposes, but to get away from her boyfriend Radek Stepanek. She broke up with him late April this year.

"To combine a career and a [relationship] between two top players is sometimes impossible," Kvitova said according to Tennis.com.

Plus, it's not so strange to see that Petra opted to move to Monaco. Plenty of other athletes like Novak Djokovic, Caroline Wozniacki, MIlos Raonic, Victoria Azarenka and Bernard Tomic have done so already.

Let's hope that the tennis star stops receiving threats!
