2014 FIFA World Cup: Muller and Messi, so much comparison

Thomas Muller of Germany and Lionel Messi of Argentina had so much comparison because of their great performance for this 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. And now that the tournament is almost over, their greatness will be test in numbers.

On the track for a second row Adidas Golden Boot, Germany's pride Muller is the leading light in Coach Low's team. His fifth goal of these semi-finals against the hosting team, Brazil dragged him into a being part of the fabulous five of his countrymen, including: Miroslav Klose, Gerd Muller, Jurgen Klinsmann and Helmut Rahn.

On the other hand, there is only one undisputed star for Argentina. The four-time FIFA Ballon d'Or winner with a name we call Lionel Messi. He hopes to take his place among the World Cup greats with an Argentine victory in the Macarana.

As the smell of the bacon is already conquering the world, the question to ask is will it be No. 10 of Argentina or No.13 of Germany who will take home the bacon? FIFA.com took the fight in numbers.

Height - Thomas Muller 186cm while Lionel Messi 169cm. Muller obviously got the height advantage over Messi. The Argentine maestro got his growth hormones on his arrival at Barcelona in his early teenage year but still reached 5ft 7ins.

Date of Birth - Thomas Muller, September 13, 1989 (24 years old) as of Lionel Messi, June 24, 1987 (27 years old). Muller made his debut just three months before the 2010 South Africa kicked off at the young age of 20. Messi will turn 31 at the next finals, has nothing to be pressured about. He is in the prime of his career.

Squad Number - Muller No.13 versus Messi No.10. Thirteen may not be a lucky number to all but for Muller it is his number. He is hoping to follow the career highlights of his namesake Gerd.
